Macro Friday: Week 36

W00t~! Another photo challenge! I'm on a roll.

This one is for Blogging For Bolivias Macro Friday, week 36.

"Succulent: Rich in desirable qualities."
Isn't it wierd that a cactus is called a "succulent"? There's nothing succulent about them. At least to me. I tried cleaning it off to take a nice picture and the damn thing stabbed me. Not very succulent. My whole hand was tingling for the rest of the night.

I enhanced it mostly in RAW, took alot of the shadow from her precious little face, removed the drool, slightly smoothed the lines under her eyes... that's about it. Adorable little munchkin isn't she?

Let's Do 52

Paint The Moon Photography is having a weekly photo challenge.
This weeks theme is "Blessings" or "Tiny". I chose blessings.

"The love of a family is life's greatest blessing." -unknown

When searching for the perfect picture for this weeks theme, all I could think about was my family. I took sooooo many pictures this week, and none of them were doing it for me. My husband saved my life. Literally (from drowning) and figuratively. He gave me these two little angels that I will cherish and treasure forever. My biggest blessing is my family. 

This is my "mothers necklace". It has all the names of our little family, and a little heart charm resting on top.

Innocent Wonder

A Two Year Old
A two year old is so many things.
A tiny discoverer of butterfly wings.
A hugger of teddies, a sweet sleepy head.
And someone to dream for in bright years ahead.
A special new person who right from the start,
has a place in the family and a corse in your heart.
And just when you think you've learned all the things,
that your little one is,and the joy that she brings,
a hug or a grin comes with such a sweet surprise,
that love finds you smiling with tears in your eyes.

The Princess and the Pants

My daughter has always had the strangest issues. For instance, a few nights ago I was woken up many times during the night because she noticed that the hem of her pants didn't go all the way down to her heel. I ended up having to dig through a mess of a clean clothes basket to find bigger pants in order to get to sleep.
So you can imagine how happy she was when I pulled these out!

I've seen this style alot lately. The first time I saw them, I fell in love and knew I had to have some. The lowest I could find them was on Etsy for $34. I thought that was silly until I actually tried making them... now I think they're way under priced!
I bought the material for 40% off at Joanns, for $8. It's alot of work, but worth it! Now all I have to do is take them in and hope I don't mess them up somehow >__>

The Springs Preserve in Las Vegas, NV

The Springs Preserve in Las Vegas is having a special!

Adults get in for the price of children.

So instead of two adults costing $20, it only costs $10.

My husband and I went, and this is what I got with my "new" camera.



This is Dharma. Isn't she gorgeous?

Right after I snapped it, she layed her head down and refused to look back up.

I was on my belly taking this through the fence wire...

A few lizards. Not too pretty, but they take nice pictures.

This is Genghis. He was my husbands favorite.

His wing span was somewhere around 6 feet, I believe.

I think this would have made a gorgeous family portrait.
No one was around to take the picture for me, and the tripod was in the car.

Maybe next time.

I love these things. 

 have no clue what they are, but I love the way the light hits the twirly part.
